So you upgraded to iOS4 on your iPhone 3g/iPod Touch 2g, GREAT! But where are the custom homescreen wallpapers or the multitasking features? YOUR OUT OF LUCK! Apple didn’t deem these features “worthy” for these devices! But thankfully if you jailbreak (Here is a video describing how: www.youtube.com ) you can enable these features! Steps: 1. Open Cydia 2. Search for “features” 3. Install the package that corresponds to your iDevice 4. Enable the features you want/don’t want in Winterboard! 6. YOUR DONE! PLEASE SUBSCRIBE! This video demos how iOS4 will run on iPhone 3GS when it becomes available on June 21st. The version I am running is the “gold master” anotherwords the final release to developers before the final OS is burned. This release is about as close as you can get to a final gold burn as you get. Its meant for very last min changes if any for developers to make and adjust too prior to being submitted. ‘ As you can see from this video the iOS4 runs very well on legacy hardware (3GS) New features shown here are folders for organization, multitasking and a few enhancements to the camera and location GPS. ** MUST READ** Want to downgrade from 4.0? Watch this – www.youtube.com This is the GOLD MASTER firmware meaning the FINAL release before the official one (AKA it’s the SAME thing!) Note The Following: 1. You MUST be on a MAC 2. THIS DOESN’T work for iPhone 2g (first gen) OR iPod Touch 1g 3. This jailbreak that I demonstrate ONLY works with the iPhone 3g Steps: 1. Download ALL the files from bellow! 2. Set device into Recovery (hold home and power for about 20 seconds) 3. Go into iTunes and press Alt and left click on restore 4. Pick the iOS 4 gm you downloaded (firmware 4.0 Gold Master) 5. Let iTunes do the rest Steps For jailbreaking (3g ONLY): 1. Download Files from bellow 2. Open the torrent in transmission! 4. Open redsn0w and point it at the 4.0 beta 4 firmware for iPhone 3g that you downloaded! 5. Set custom boot and recovery if you want! 6. Continue ONLY when device is powered off and plugged it! 7. When it prompts you: hold down home button for 5 seconds then hold down power and home for 10 and then let go of power and continue holding home until it goes to the next screen! 8. Wait for it to finish then REBOOT! 9. Go cydia (will have white icon at first) and add any source that you know and all sources will be there and it will fix the whit icon! 10.
